[00:00:06] Welcome to your quiet prayer. [00:00:11] It's time to put aside everything, absolutely everything. Just set everything aside now. [00:00:24] What's going on in the world, what's around you in these moments together, these quiet still moments where you become one with God. [00:00:39] You have nowhere to go, you have nothing to do, you have no to do list. You have no burdens right now in these moments. You have no concerns whatsoever. [00:01:06] I invite you to take a nice deep breath now. Just breathe in nice and easy and slow and breathe out. [00:01:22] And if you're sitting in a nice seated upright position with your feet flat on the floor or however you are positioned now, be sure it's in an alert position. [00:01:42] You're not about ready to start thinking about something other than what God is calling you to right now. [00:01:58] I invite you to gently close your eyes like two petals of a flower and take another nice deep breath. [00:02:14] Breathing in and breathing out. [00:02:22] You know, deep breathing is the first thing to do to quiet down. [00:02:32] Not just taking one deep breath, but several. [00:02:39] So let's together now, let's just take two more nice deep breaths. Breathing from the very bottom of your belly, all the way up through your chest, through your mouth and breathing out, nice and easy. [00:03:07] One more time, breathing in and breathing out. [00:03:24] I invite you now to focus on the top of your head. [00:03:32] You might even now place the place your hands on the top of your head. The palms of your hands against your head. [00:03:46] Recognize the presence of God touching you now. [00:03:58] And he's breathing through the top of your head, right through the brain, every cell, your eyes, your nose, those sinuses, your cheeks, your mouth. Let your mouth just relax. [00:04:23] No tension in the jaw. [00:04:28] Now I invite you to put your hands back, back on your lap or on your sides of your chair or wherever you are. As long as they are rested and not clenched or folded together. [00:04:46] Your hands are just easy lying there asking you to let them rest. [00:04:59] And now I invite you to focus on your neck. [00:05:07] What's happening with your neck? [00:05:11] Does it feel a little stiff, a little sore? [00:05:17] I invite you to very gently turn your head very slowly to the right and then to the left again, flowing very nicely from the left to the right and up and down, saying yes, yes to quiet prayer. [00:05:51] And now focus on your shoulders and just let them relax. [00:05:59] Let them just slump. [00:06:02] You're sitting in a nice upright positions but position but your. [00:06:08] Your shoulders are not clenched, they're dropped down. [00:06:15] All is at peace. [00:06:19] Your chest, your stomach, your pelvis, all at peace, all at rest. [00:06:30] I speak to your stomach now and I tell your stomach to Relax. [00:06:35] To be at peace. [00:06:37] All is well. [00:06:39] You're being taken care of now by a child of God, and all is well. Be at peace. [00:06:52] And now sense. [00:06:54] Sense the breath of God. The peace of God moving down through your legs, your thighs, your knees, your blessed knees. We speak strength and energy and vitality to those knees. Healing to your knees, shins, calves, ankles. [00:07:22] And now your feet. [00:07:25] Your blessed feet invite you to. If you can just spread your toes as far apart as you can spread your toes. If you've got socks on, doesn't matter. You can spread them in your shoes. Just feeling your toes, just getting a little wide and relax them. [00:07:49] Now I'd like to ask you to turn your attention to your spine and sense the power of the Holy Spirit moving through every vertebrae of your spine, all the way from your neck down to your tailbone. [00:08:12] Blessed. [00:08:15] You have a blessed spine because it's yours. [00:08:24] In these moments now, as your body is at rest, so can your mind be at rest and at peace with yourself and with life. [00:08:44] For God is calling you into a new place of comfort and stillness. [00:08:59] You know that you're finding no peace in the noise and the clutter and the madness and the rush and the hustle and the bustle. [00:09:13] And you ask yourself, what am I doing? [00:09:18] And why? [00:09:23] Oh, you can come up with reasons, and they'll all be based on accepting a disquiet life. [00:09:42] But God is telling you that the clutter, the noise, the chaos, the hustle, the bustle never goes away in the world around you, but it can go away within you. [00:10:09] I find comfort in you. [00:10:13] I find peace in you. [00:10:16] I find who I am in you. [00:10:24] Take another nice deep breath now and breathe it out. [00:10:36] As you are sitting here quietly with me in quiet prayer, thoughts will come blipping through your mind and simply tell them, I'm not going to think that now. [00:10:53] I'll think that later. [00:10:55] Not now. No, no, no. And brush it aside like a broom, you know, take a broom and just push brush aside. [00:11:08] And again another thought may come. Brush it aside. [00:11:13] Because right now you are in a holy place with God. You have chosen to separate yourself from your daily life and sit in the temple of God alone with him, asking for nothing, talking about nothing whatsoever. No, this is not a time to ask. [00:11:48] This is not a time to seek. [00:11:52] Those are all things you do separate from this time, which is doing nothing. [00:12:01] He is doing the work in you now because you're not interrupting him. [00:12:12] You are so precious to him. [00:12:18] You are so loved. [00:12:23] And there's a great call on Your life. [00:12:30] And when there's a call on your life, it's good. [00:12:37] Life becomes bigger, colors become brighter. [00:12:48] You see Jesus in people and you call on him and you see miracles, even as the miracle you're sitting in right now. [00:13:08] This is not a normal relaxation moment. [00:13:16] Relaxing in itself is good. [00:13:22] Meditation is being alone with God, saying nothing, pushing aside thoughts, simply being one with him while he does the work in you. [00:13:50] I know my thoughts toward you, says the Lord. [00:13:55] I know my thoughts toward you. [00:14:00] Do you know your thoughts toward me when you read Jeremiah 29:11? [00:14:18] We are always so very, very encouraged to know he's thinking of us. [00:14:24] And that's true always. [00:14:26] He says Matthew 28:20 and John 10:28. [00:14:37] I am with you always. [00:14:39] I'm with you always. [00:14:43] That's why quiet prayer is so special, that you're here now alone with him, focusing on his being with you. [00:14:58] I'm going to be quiet now for a moment so that you can focus your entire heart, mind and soul on the presence of the living God in this moment with you. [00:15:17] You beautiful, beautiful thing, you. You are so beautiful. It's. It's. [00:16:36] I invite you to take another nice deep breath. And on your in breath, silently speak the words, I love you, Lord. [00:16:50] And on your out breath, silently speak the words, I love you, Lord. [00:17:02] As you of course know your thoughts toward God, perhaps it is time to increase them and find more of yourself in his thoughts and more of him in yours in new, fresh, beautiful ways that you will discover in these moments, alone and quiet and still going nowhere, asking for nothing, just sitting with him and telling him, I love you, I love you, I love you. [00:18:12] I invite you now to very gently open your eyes. If you're ready, look around where you are right now. [00:18:26] See the beauty around you. [00:18:31] If you're in a dark room, embrace the darkness. Hold it tight, allow it to calm you and give you peace. [00:18:46] For the peace of God is all over you right now. [00:18:58] Take another final deep breath with me, breathing in. [00:19:06] I love you, Lord. [00:19:11] And breathing out. [00:19:15] I love you, Lord. [00:19:21] This is Marie Chapian, and I'm looking forward to our next quiet prayer together. [00:19:30] May the Lord bless you and keep you. [00:19:34] May the Lord be gracious unto you. [00:19:39] May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and give you peace and give you a wondrous and beautiful revelation into himself and into yourself, in Him. [00:19:59] In Jesus name, amen.
