[00:00:06] Welcome to your quiet prayer. [00:00:09] This is your time alone with God to rest, to sense his love for you, and to learn more in the silence of who you are. [00:00:27] Your unique you, ness only he can reveal to you. [00:00:35] So I invite you now to sit in a nice upright position, feet flat on the floor and hands gently resting on your lap or on the arms of your chair. [00:01:00] And I invite you to very gently close your eyes. [00:01:10] And now take a nice deep breath in, filling your belly with the breath and breathing out and sensing your belly, pushing the air out through your mouth. [00:01:35] And as you continue to breathe, very gently, very purposely, very intentionally, intentionally, I invite you to focus on the top of your head. [00:01:57] Perhaps put your hands on top of your head very gently. [00:02:07] That's you, that's you. [00:02:12] The one whom God loves so, so dearly. [00:02:21] Now I invite you to lower your hands to your lap and sense the top of your head completely relaxed. [00:02:33] Your eyes are at peace and relaxed. [00:02:40] Your nose, your sinuses, cheekbones, and now your mouth. [00:02:58] Let there be a little space between your tongue and your upper teeth. [00:03:09] Sense how beautifully the air flows in and out through your mouth and through your nose. And as you breathe in and out, your jaw is completely relaxed. It's slack. Just let your jaw go slack. [00:03:35] Now I invite you to focus on your neck. [00:03:42] Sense your neck at complete peace. [00:03:46] Very gently turn your head to the right, to the center, to the left, center. [00:04:05] One more time to the right, to the center, to the left, into the center. [00:04:18] Invite you to make some little head circles. [00:04:24] Lower your head down towards your chest and gently move it around to the right, to the back, to the left. [00:04:36] Down again to the center of your chest. [00:04:42] Now let's go the other way. To the left. [00:04:45] Back, right and down. [00:04:51] Lowering your head. [00:04:54] Now I invite you to lift your head. Sit up nice and straight. [00:05:02] Allow that deep breathing, that lovely gentle, deep breath breathing to permeate your spine, to wake up your spine and put it at rest. [00:05:22] Now, how are your shoulders? [00:05:27] Allow them to slump down the top of your head to your shoulders. You're in control. Complete peace and rest. [00:05:43] And the silent hug of God now hugs you from your neck to your waist. Another one lovely hug. [00:05:56] As you relax, give yourself another little squeeze. Oh, squeeze, squeeze. Sense that hug and relax. [00:06:12] Your hands are still on your lap. [00:06:15] And with that squeeze, your elbows just move into your waist and you squeeze and release and allow the peace of God to flow now through your lower body, from your pelvis to your toes. [00:06:38] Thighs are at rest. [00:06:40] Knees speak a special blessing now to your knees. [00:06:48] Shins, calves, Ankles at rest and your feet. [00:07:00] Give your toes a little wiggle. [00:07:02] Little tiny wiggle, teeny weeny wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle. And now relax. [00:07:09] As the peace of God reaches all the way through your body to your pinky toes. [00:07:17] With peace, take another nice deep breath and breathe out. [00:07:34] This time, as you breathe in, I invite you to say these words, I am at peace. [00:07:47] Silently, of course. Breathing in and breathing out, all is well. [00:08:03] One more time. Breathing in, I am at peace. [00:08:13] Breathing out, all is well. [00:08:18] 94, verse 19 says in the multitude of my horrible. I'm going to paraphrase it. [00:08:35] In the multitude of my horrible anxieties within me. [00:08:41] Your beautiful comforts delight my soul so much in those words. [00:08:56] His comforts are what you're sitting in right now, comforting you. You have nowhere to go right now, nothing to do. You have nothing to think about, not a thing. [00:09:15] You have nothing to worry about. [00:09:17] You have no concerns whatsoever, not one concern. [00:09:23] In these moments set apart with God in your quiet prayer, there is nothing but you and God. [00:09:35] And he comforts the multitude of those anxieties. [00:09:43] And you notice it says, within me. [00:09:48] So your anxieties are not outside you, they're inside you. Look at the world or life, and it is your response that creates wisdom, peace or anxiety. [00:10:22] But this wonderful verse tells you that his comforts not only comfort, they delight. [00:10:35] That's where you are right now. [00:10:38] You have nothing else to do. There is nothing on. You have no to do list. [00:10:46] You are not on a time schedule here. Not now, not now. [00:10:53] That's why it's so beautiful to be in these moments with God in quiet prayer, one with him. I love you, he says with an everlasting love. I give you my peace. [00:11:10] Not as the world gives the world around you, outside you. External can be anxiety, arousing, but the world within you where the Spirit of the living God lives, where the Holy Spirit can change everything within you, change your mind, mind, your thoughts toward good, toward peace. It's all within you, any comforts. [00:11:50] And these comforts delight. [00:11:55] They not only comfort, they delight your inner being, your soul. [00:12:04] Everything in your life is from your soul, your soul, your intellect, your emotions, your will. [00:12:17] And the Holy Spirit of God loves your mind, loves how you feel about things. [00:12:30] And he loves it when you choose Him. [00:12:36] And his words in the multitude of my anxieties within me. [00:12:45] Your comforts delight my soul. [00:12:56] And it goes on to say, what would I do without you? [00:13:03] He has pulled you out of a shadowy place and set you in the light. [00:13:13] These moments in Quiet prayer, alone with him are the best moments of your day. [00:13:27] Because in these moments nothing intrudes. [00:13:34] Nothing can reach you here because you are sitting still in silence. [00:13:45] All is within. [00:13:50] Take another nice deep breath. [00:13:58] Breathe out. All is well. [00:14:05] Breathing in one more time. I am at peace. [00:14:14] All is well. [00:14:23] I'm going to be quiet for about a minute and let you sit in silence. Be still and know that I am God, he says. [00:14:39] So in this moment of stillness with just you and God, continue to breathe and to be still. [00:14:53] And when your mind suddenly flutters with thoughts, just brush them aside and say silently, nana, I'll think that later, not now. [00:15:09] And come back to your focus. [00:15:11] Come back to your oneness. Come back to your stillness and your breath with God. [00:15:29] It breathe, breathe. Nice and easy. [00:16:15] Breathe. [00:16:19] Whenever you find yourself getting nervous or anxious or even tired, maybe negative, maybe grumpy, practice your deep breathing. [00:16:36] I am at peace. [00:16:39] All is well. [00:16:44] And I invite you to take these moments that you experience here with me in quiet prayer into your day, into your night. [00:16:59] Go to this moment of peace that you feel within the presence of God who is telling you, I've loved you since before you were born. [00:17:17] I am your creator, I am your God. [00:17:25] Come unto me. [00:17:27] Come to me. [00:17:29] Come to me. [00:17:32] Stay here with me, he is saying, and I will take you to rise above every care externally and within. [00:17:51] Nothing can take you out of my head. [00:17:57] You are mine. [00:18:02] I invite you to take another nice deep breath. [00:18:08] I am at peace. [00:18:12] And breathe out. All is well. [00:18:19] Now I invite you to open your eyes like two petals of a flower. [00:18:26] Look around you with gratitude. [00:18:32] Wherever you are right now, where you are is beautiful. [00:18:38] When you see beauty, things become beautiful. [00:18:53] Until next time, dear one. [00:18:58] Jesus bless you and keep you and make his face to shine upon you. [00:19:07] Give you all of the peace, all of the peace you can contain. [00:19:17] Until then, bye bye.
